The words of Woody Guthrie were ringing in my head as I scrolled through my snapshots trying to capture this story. They say we’re a nation of laws but I say we’re a land of people. I’ve nearly run off the road trying to photograph a stunning sunset, but in the end it’s the faces that make me stop and reflect.
“From California to the New York island
From the Redwood Forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me.”
“Cathy, I’m lost, I said though I knew she was sleeping
And I’m empty and aching and I don’t know why
Counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike
They’ve all come to look for America
All come to look for America
All come to look for America…”
